Marie Laurencin (1883-1956)
She is one of the great women of French painting, exhibited in museums all over the world. Close to Georges Braque, her fellow student from her first artistic years, then muse of Guillaume Apollinaire, she rapidly created a style recognizable and inimitable, mixing grace and strength. “With a face, Marie Laurencin will tell everything”, we could paraphrase the famous words of Monet about the trees by Corot.
