Guily Joffrin (1909-2006)
A long life, a great body of work, rich, varied and diligent, that this future Breton by adoption began in 1928, when she was admitted to the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, in Lucien Simon’s studio. The rest is well known: portraits and landscapes marked by an assertive line, sometimes as sharp as a slab of ice in winter! And then, of course, numerous rewards that have been ponctuated her career : Price of the National Society Paris fine arts, gold medal at the Salon de Montrouge, prix Chenavard, Price Madeleine-Bunoust, etc. We can find today her prints and canvas in differents national state collections and in the collections of the city of Paris, as well as in museums in Brest, Les Sables-d’Olonne, Fontainebleau, Aurillac and at the Petit Palais in Geneva.
