André Fougeron (1913-1998)
“During the Liberation, André Fougeron appeared as one of the most personal painter of his generation”, Gérarld Schurr, author of the Dictionnaire des petits maîtres de la peinture reminds us. In fact, supported by Aragon for a long time, this dedicated artist was awarded as soon as 1946 the Prix national de peinture which propelled him at the top of the “new French realism”. His works can be founnd in the Tate Modern in London, as well as in the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts of Moscow or even in the Pompidou Centre in Paris.
