Eugène Feyen (1815-1908)

artiste
He has been in the Dictionaire des petits maîtres de la peinture for years. Educated at the Fine Art Grand School of Paris, he naturally joined the realism movement to tell with a steady hand the world around him. This is how, after settling in Cancale, Eugène Feyen became the talented minstrel of marine world, fishermen, shellfish and wrack picket, quay and seashore life. Works both touching and powerful, they have seduced several generations of collectors from both sides of the Atlantic. In 2003, one of his canvas, Regatta in Cancale, was sold for 119 641 € in auction at Sotheby’s in New York.
