Jean Picart Le Doux (1902-1982)
Son of painter Charles Picart Le Doux, Jean early revealed himself as an exceptional poster artist, awarded the Grand Prix de l’Affiche–which rewards poster artists–in 1942. But it is meeting Jean Lurçat which changed the course of his work, enabling him to become of the most famous peintres-cartonniers in the world. Nowadays, his tapestry is exhibited in many museums, including in Kansas City, Paris, Stuttgart, Troyes, Warsaw, Vienna and Washington.
